I just upgraded my VGN-SZ330p to windows vista 64 bit and in the process lost my Nvidia 7400 card. it does not appear in the device driver manager nor can I add it manually. I did not update the notebook with the bios update before upgrading from XP professional to vista home ultimate.I tried t use driveragent and update all the old drivers identified but no lack still all what I have is a VGA graphic driver that covers only about 60% of the screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

install a new graphics driver, such as 179.48 from Nvidia's homepage.

Can you see something like Generic Display Adapter [or something like that] under Display Adapters?
-
also make sure youre actually on the "speed" setting to enable the nvidia video card.

hello
thanks for your quick reply. I tried to do that but the driver cannot find the actual graphic cards. I get a message that "nvidia could not locate any driver that is compatible with your hardware" and hangs up. I think it makes sense if there is no hardware how the driver can be installed?
thanks -
yes it says "VGA graphics adpter"
-
Hello
thanks
what do you mean on the "speed setting"
thanks -
Well cant you do a manual Driver Update? just exact the driver to a folder and locate it from there.
-
hello
thanks
I tried but NVIDIA driver hangs up immediately after it gives the message
"the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit".
thanks -
can you kindly indicate what did you mean with your comment?
I am not sure where the "speed" has to be modified.
thanks -
If you download your driver from Nvidia homepage, it won't work.
