Does anyone know where I can download new drivers for the Nvidia GT 330M that sits in my Sony VPCCW2S1E laptop? Previously I followed the instructions here but that link does no longer work.
I'm about to reinstall Windows 7 x64 and just want the latest driver version for this GPU.
Many thanks!

Did you try the ones from this thread?

I think, since there seem to be no switchable GPU on those systems, simply downloading the latest nVidia mobile ("Verde" is what nVidia calls it) drivers should work just fine. No need for the fancy Z1 package, which was created because of Sony's unique switchable GPU implementation.

In that case, get the drivers from here:
NVIDIA Drivers and Tools - LaptopVideo2Go Forums
Remember to get the Mobile OEM versions for the OS that you have, eg. Windows 7 64bit. -
That is effectively exactly the same as a Z1 with "Static GPU Switching" policy on Speed mode.
Nvidia Verde drivers still only officially support Sony's Vaio F series as far as I know, so they probably won't work without modding. Worth a shot, but I think you'll need to change 1 line in one .inf file for it to work. -
You are right:

What is the hardware ID of your GPU from the device manager?

This forum was down for two days (for me at least), so I found drivers and a modded inf here. Still version 280.26 so all current. Thanks for the link though.
Nope, vanilla nVidia drivers do not work.
Thanks - I actually asked in that forum while this site was down and got my drivers.

I need drivers too( SONY Z with 330m/ switchable GPU) SONY's site never updates it, still running stock drivers.
Any help would be a huge help. -
OR get the drivers from here http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/602497-latest-vpc-z1-330m-drivers-bios-hack-people.html

You can use the attached modded INF (includes OEM settings for your GPU). Download the 285.38 64-bit beta notebook driver, extract the driver with 7-zip, and replace the attached nvszc INF file in the Display.driver folder. Run the setup to install the driver.
The official Nvidia Verde driver does include support (settings) for most Vaio GPU's, but only the F series are included in the GPU entry list.Attached Files:

Given that, if you download the latest Nvidia Verde drivers and modify this string in nvszc.inf:
DEV_0A29&SUBSYS_9067104D
to:
DEV_0A2B&SUBSYS_9072104D
Then they should install just fine. Just for your future information. -
This is not the right way to modify a INF, you might be applying the wrong settings.

Great, thanks.
Thanks. Would have been great if it was this easy, but I take it from coolguy's follow-up post that it won't in all instances. -
Care to elaborate please? Do you see a better way?
My way just "forces" the Vaio F series driver settings onto his Vaio CW series.
The only alternatives are to use some other laptop driver settings (Toshiba, Acer, etc.) or to "roll your own custom driver settings" based on I-don't-know-what.
I would argue my way is the best, because the Vaio CW series should be most similar to Vaio F series if they have the same 330M video card. -
I had seen the INF settings for both the CW and F series 330M GPU's. They are not the same. The driver will still install and work as expected, Nvidia drivers are great in this regard, but there are custom settings for the CW series GPU's.
Your method is a brute force way of modifying an INF. The Nvidia Verde driver nvszc INF includes support for most recent Vaio notebook GPU's. You need to find the appropriate section numbers for the settings. I got this from the Sony released Nvidia 259.42 driver (found in the FTP), which supported many Vaio GPU's.
Believe me nor not, I have been modding Nvidia INF's for 2 years, and I have read each every line in the INF's. -
You're right. Thanks for the explanation.
