I recently did a clean install of Vista Ultimate on my SZ220. I followed all the guides I could find in this forum on how to do a vista install correctly, but I'm still having some problems.

First my camera won't work. I tried installing the xp driver, and I get a "Driver failed to upgrade" dialogue. I tried extracting the driver from the .exe and I couldn't install it that way either. The camera does not show up in the device manager at all. There is an "Unknown Device" in the USB section, but I can't do anything with it. It says that there is no driver installed for this USB device, but if I try to update the driver with the camera driver, it says that the current driver is up to date (when it doesn't even have a driver installed!). I've tried uninstalling this USB device and then running the camera driver installer, but that also failed. The hardware ID of the USB device is simply USB\UNKNOWN. I've attached a screenshot of my device manager so you can see what's going on better.

My second problem is that the Infineon Trusted Platform Module won't install either. Is this even that important to have installed? When I try to install it, I get a "Trusted Platform Module not found" message. I tried isolating the driver and installing that, but failed.

My third and final problem is that my laptop cannot come out of sleep mode. If I try to wake it up, I just get a black screen. I then have to restart it twice to get it to boot up correctly. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version I could find.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

Odd about the XP camera driver as it works for me and most others with SZ2/SZ3 computers. Its possible to install a driver for the TPM that does not include the applications (it might even be included in SP1. You might image your system, start again from scratch and install SP1 standalone before installing any other drivers or updates.

That's what I was planning on doing next. I'll probably just create a second partition to store all the drivers and utilities and reinstall. Thanks for the reply!
