Long story short: We have a professor that badly screwed this computer up. We don't have the original driver disks, and Sony doesn't seem to offer them. Any suggestions as to where to get them?

It would be nice to know what country it was purchased in. Does it have windows XP ? If so click on start/Right click on my computer/click on properties/click on the hardware tab/click on devise manager/ expand mice and other pointing devises. Know tell me what is listed besides a mouse such as what kind of pointing devise such as synaptics or whatever it states. If it were mine I would uninstall than let windows look for the driver. You may be missing part of the program also so you need to know what software supports it. Mine is synaptics
