    Hi guys

I am planning to get a under 3lbs laptop to do web surfing, download/upload pics from camera, checking email, go to Asia & tak a lot of pictures (No gaming)

Should I get laptop A or laptop B

    Laptop A: Vaio TT laptop with a decent CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor SU9300 1.20 Ghz 800FSB) with 3GB DDR-3 800Mhz RAM plus a 160GB 5400rpm Hard drive

    Laptop B: Vaio Tz laptop with a slower CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor U7700 1.33Ghz 533FSB) with 2GB DDR-2 533Mhz RAM plus a 64GB SSD with
    a 250GB 5400rpm Hard Drive

Prices are almost the same. Which one would you recommend ?

    Please kindly advise.

Also, TZ runs hot. TT is my choice.

Of the two, I would go with TT as well. I think one of the main weakness for TZ is it pushed for performance and weight a little too hard and sacrificed a little bit in the structure integrity part. TT addressed this very minor deficiency.

On the other hand, since you are going to Asia (not sure where exactly), ever consider buying a used TX/TZ/TT from Japan (or even new) while you are there? May be cheaper and get some options that you don't get here -- especially some of the region-specific wireless equipment that will be very useful there.

I am planning to go to Japan later on this year but I am not planning to get new / used Vaio over there because when I bring it back to Canada, I have to pay 12% import tax plus warranty would be an issue for me. But your idea is good though.
