Hello all! I have a Vaio F22 (M0E/B) ordered and on its way, arriving Wednesday! So I am after any tips, tricks etc that you can recommend for getting maximum performance! I'm looking at gaming primarily, though I know it's not the most powerful graphics chipset around. It's still better than my old lappie which is on its last elbows.

Also, a more specific query regarding the RAM, if anyone knows this.

I understand that the F22 comes with a spare RAM slot, and I am looking to take advantage of it. I am looking at 4GB RAM sticks that are compatible, but I am seeing two variants of RAM. One is "204 Pin 1.5v DDR3 PC3-12800 SoDimm" annd the other is "204 Pin 1.5v DDR3 PC3-10600 SoDimm". Anyone know the difference? The price difference is only £2, but is it worth it? Also, what kind does the F22 come with already? 12800 SoDimm or 10600 SoDimm?

    Thanks for your time!

How much RAM is your F22 going to come with?

Also, if it helps, 12800 DDR3 RAM is 1600MHz and 10600 RAM is 1333MHz.

I think 1333MHz is standard nowadays, but 1600MHz RAM will downclock to 1333MHz if needed. Either DDR3 will be fine.

Thanks fellow pony liking person! :D That really helps!

It's coming with the 4GB loadout. Not sure if it comes with the 1600MHz or 1333MHz though. That's what I was hoping to find out ideally. Is it much of a difference, the two speeds of RAM?

According to Intel Ark and Notebookcheck, it would seem to come with 1333MHz RAM. It probably doesn't matter which you buy.

Probably just buy the cheaper one after you have confirmed if you have a spare RAM slot.

Agree ^. Better to have a matched set for best dual channel speeds.

Thanks for the help all! I've requested a matching RAM module and should be arriving in a day or so.

And there can never be too many ponies! :D
