Anyone know of any replacements for the Vaio CR Series, or just a 14.1" series. i see there are new 13.3 and 13.1 and 15.4's but nothing about 14's?

    Thanks

So far there's no news on a 14.1" series. And if anyone knows here, they are not allowed to tell it anyways.

I think all we can do is wait until next month..... its a long wait I know. :(

Sonystyle has just given minor refresh to TZ, CR, NR, and AR lines, so I don't think there is a new 14.1" coming soon -- unless, of course, the new 13.1" Z is a typo of 14.1" Z.

CR series is quite new and the design is up to date. I don't see any replacement coming.

However, Montevina will sooner or later be implemented I expect.

I'd expect it with the Fall/Winter VAIO refreshes, probably along with the AR series (which is in it's 8th version here soon).

It looks like the CR and AR series will not be replaced afterall. There will only be a refresh of the models later this year... :(

It's the OLD Z series; check the specs; but still, very misleading by sony XD
I wouldn't mind getting a 14.1" so long as it's either thin or light. I'm more into portability, so yeah...

I know its the old Z series. The specifications are laughable. It was a false alarm on another thread. It was very convincing though...

The old Z and SR series were preceded by "PCG", as in PCG-SR.

The new Z and SR series are preceded by "VGN" as in VGN-SR. :)

The original SR has a 10.4" LCD while the original Z has 14.1" LCD, so it;s probably easier to confuse the old Z with the new Z. Still, the fact that a 6-yr old Z1 could be confused by someone to be the new Z probably says something about how beautiful the Z1 was at that time.

*sigh* I love the old Z1. It really was so beautiful, hopefully the new one looks as good.

But the real replacement for the CR is the 13.3" SR. They appear to be alternating between 14.1" and 13.3" in every revision - 14.1" FJ, 13.3" C, 14.1" CR, and now 13.3" SR.

The old Z series' looks were nice. But its performance sure wasn't.

To finish this thread, there are no new 14.1" series to replace the CR as of now. Sony is just going to refresh the CR series later this year.
