    Hi guys,

Just got my self a new Sony Battery for my Z, its a VGP-BPS12.

Other than enable the battery care function on my laptop has anyone got and tips for getting the most out of it. I'm really trying to get the most time out of if, my previous battery only gave me 2 hours max. Supposinly i should be able to get at least 4 hours..

    hi,

The best improvement is from CPU undervolting, using CPUGenie or RMCLOCK. RMClock is for free ( www.rightmark.org) but has not been maintained for a while and is not suitable for newer CPU models or Win7. So, I would like to recommend CPUgenie.
In addition, in power settings, battery section, enable USB selective suspend on, power save max on wireless.
In VAIO Control center, disable all nice-to-have-peeripherals and put CDROM to auto.
In Display, select 80% brighness or as low as you can tolerate and select max power savings for Intel and/or enable Powermizer for nVidia (depends on your laptop type)
Best monitor I found is battery bar pro, shows power in Watts.

    good luck!
