I got a EB series (i5-hd5650) and must say its a nice looking machine.
I'm very new to laptops(first one bought) and ive been working with desktop for about 8 years.
So i'm already impressed by the load of useless software on installation,i need to get rid of this.
-So can i just format the disk and install a clean 7 premium installation and use my key on the back?
-Do i need a dutch version ?
What i'm trying to say is,can i work like a desktop, format c, another windows on it?
I hope to find some answers over here!

you can format the disk and install whatever you want, fortunately, this is not an apple computer.
You do not need a dutch version, language is a personal choice of yours.
You can leave your current install intact and install another one but I don't see why you would do so..
After installing your clean version of windows 7 with the key on the back of the machine, it will works but you will need the machine's drivers which can be found on sony's website. You also need some utilities to like, change the brightness of your screen and volume of speakers using the Fn button.
It's a good idea to perform the clean install. -
I only need to download a home premium iso and make it boot to usb/dvd and format/reinstall using the key on the back? Then install drivers from Sony site...
Is the backup partition gone too?So no repairdiscs needed then?
Thx alot for your answer,i'm really deciding what to do... -
You might want to make your recovery discs if you haven't done this just in case you might need them in the future.
There is a recovery partition and if you format your whole HD you will lose that.
You also might want to have a go just uninstalling what you don't need and tweaking what you want to run at start up in the system configuration.
This is what i normally do.
There is an EB owners lounge so you might want to check in there also as most likely others may have performed a clean install also.
