New FZ models

I already ordered an FZ some weeks ago, and I should be able to pick it up this week. However, when I hear some people talking about possible model upgrades in June, I'm inclined to cancel my current order and wait some longer. I am willing to wait until about half July. How big is the chance new FZ models are released by then?

When do you guys expect new FZ models to be released? Please also state if you expect it to concern 'minor' adjustments or a close to complete redesign.

I'd really appreciate it if multiple people could share their opinions! Thanks!

 

Pretty much every single computer model will be upgraded due to Montevina set for late June/July. When each is actually going to upgraded is up to speculation and rumor. In other words, it's a question of when, not if.

 

What 'when' do you expect?

by the way; I live in the Netherlands (Europe), does that imply longer waiting for the new models to be available? If so, (about) how much longer?

My guess is that by year's end, all of their current models will be replaced by entirely new ones. The larger models like AR, FZ, SZ, NR, will have replacements in June/July and smaller models like the TZ and UX will be replaced by September.

I hear that Montevina allows for smaller, thinner designs and motherboards, so I think Sony will take advantage of that and make some very stylish, nice looking replacements.

I also feel that Sony will extend LED back-lighting to more of its models, especially the FZ series (or its replacement, whatever they call it.)

I would be surprised if they don't give the FZ at least LED back-lit screens.

 

Here's to hoping LED comes sooner rather than later....

 

Don't doubt it - the FZ's will be ROCKIN' hot in about 3 months cuz I just bought one!

 

Could it be any other way?
