    Hi,

this is a request from my friend.

He have CR model vaio and he have made recovery discs the first day he got it. A few days ago his HDD died (bad sectors) and since he had a spare one, he just swapped them - to not bother with sony repair and waiting time...

Now the problems are here. Recovery runs fine, but when he wants to do the C: recovery there is an error saying the model is not correct. WTF?

The laptops is "as it was" only the HDD was changed... nothing else.

I found this thread on clubVAIO page:

    http://club.vaio.sony.eu/clubvaio/se/sv/forum/viewthread?thread=55497

This guy have exactly the same error, and as suspected sony is no help here...

Do you know what could be the issue, surely its not because of the HDD swap? Is it possible for me to do the recovery manual, surely there is just some image file that needs to be recovered, OR??

    TIA.
