I've been kind of wondering that myself (both with these SSD hard drives and the hybrid hard drives). I've never been clear on if they can be used to replace a 2.5" drive in any existing notebook, or if they will depend on something else too.

If they're in a 2.5" form factor and use SATA, then you can use them.

there are two version of SSD hard drives, SATA and EIDE.

I'm sure the one from Adtron, 2.5" SATA will work with newer versions of SZ,

as for my SZ, it only supports eide

but again.. size limitation for SSD

Manufacturers have announced that they will ship SSDs in all 3 formfactors - 1.8", 2.5" and 3.5" (in the future, of course) and in both SATA and EIDE variations.

Not earlier than next year SSDs will be available with price and capacity.
Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on some UMPC or ultra-ultralight notebook and put inside SSD. Moving parts bye bye ! ;)

P.S. But my SZ would remain my no.1 lappy ! :D

Oh I'd love a SSD in my SZ (the SZ has SATA by the way!) but 32GB is just too small. I don't need 100+ but something in the region of 60-80 is the minimum. And I bet you cannot afford that kinda size...

I bought a 120GB SATA SSD for my SZ370P/C but it won't boot. When I install it and try to boot it up, the HDD light stays on right from boot and the Vista Setup DVD won't recognize the SSD as a installable hard drive even though I've updated to the latest BIOS and the BIOS recognizes the SSD as a 120GB hard drive.
