They're practically the same. Biggest differences I can see is that the SZ370 comes with Carbon Fiber casing with XP Pro SP2. I've read CF cases scratch easily, you wanna verify that first before making the plunge.

If it doesn't scratch, I'd go for 370 because of XP Pro. You're eligible for Vista Upgrade so you can get your Vista Business and upgrade whenever you feel like it once you get your hands on it. XP Pro is stable as sin so thats why I'd go for 370.

Don't know... can you post a link to the specs on each one? I see the 430 but not the 370.... Does the 370 have the led backlit screen?

    If I had to pick

I would also pick SZ370 because you get both Window XP Pro SP2 and Windows Vista via Express Upgrade. Windows Vista maybe pretty, but just look on the forum with all the driver issue related to Vista, you are better off with Windows XP if you want a stable computer.

The SZ430 has a bigger hard drive and more video shared memory, thats about it. The SZ370 has carbon fiber, pretty LCD and has the elegant design that would last 2-3 years.

    Go for SZ370!

I would absolutely choose the SZ370 over the SZ430. I've generally found the LED backlit screens on the premium SZ models to be incredibly crisp, bright and clear, while it seems like the screens on laptops like the SZ430 are noticeably duller (I still don't understand why; to my eyes, they look duller and less vibrant than even my old S360, which didn't have LED backlighting, but still had a very bright and crisp screen).

If you get a chance, look at them side by side, and see what appeals to you. But personally I'd always choose the SZ370..... the slightly lighter weight is a nice bonus too.

If money weren't an object, one could also go for the SZ460 or SZ470 or something and get those additional perks the SZ370 wouldn't have.

Clearly money is the issue if he/she has to pick between SZ370 vs SZ430.

If money wasn't a issue, the topic would more likely be SZ430 vs SZ450.

True, I was reading the part again where he said "if you got the money to get either one"..... and I sort of extended that to think that maybe that meant that he might be able to justify spending a bit more.

I'd definately go with the 370 if it has the LED backlighting; I swear these fluorescent backlit screens get a lot dimmer after only a year and I'm thinking the led's will be bright for a MUCH longer period of time.

yeh, I am kind of leaning towards the 370, for my girl. I think it has pretty much all the features that will last a long time, except the Vista which is buggy anyway

Having owned both kind of screens (a 340 non-premium and a 360 premium), I would HIGHLY recommend the 370. I had several problems with my CTO SZ340 (which might have been unique to my particular build, but were there nonetheless) apart from the duller screen.

The LED backlit screen is entirely worth it.. for the quality of the screen, the reduction in weight, and the sexy carbonfiber body. :)
