    Hi All,

Went into a Sony store today to get a qoute on a VGNSZ18GP (Australian model only I think), and was told that it was an end of life product, and they'd have a new model in the next 2~3 weeks. This will be my first venture into getting a Sony laptop, and just wondering what that means exactly. Is it just a new model in the same series with a faster CPU, or is it the end of this series altogether? Just thought I'd ask as I need to get this laptop before the end of the financial year, but I also don't want such a significant purchase to be out of date before I walk out of the shop with it.

Its just end of series for the SZ1x series, they will be releasing the refresh models soon as they did in the states already. The new refresh version if its like in the states, just upgraded hard drive size and maybe the inclusion of a wan card but I'm not sure if that'll be the same in Australia.

Example, in the states if you had a SZ140, the SZ240 had a hard drive that was 20 GB bigger then the old SZ140 version. I'm not sure what other differences there was but there was not much.
