Well as the title says im a new owner of a SZ110. Picked it up this morning at Best Buy and finally got around to posting here. This forums really has been a great help for my choice. I already made recovery disks befor i did anything to the comp. I dont think im going to do a clean install just because all the trouble with getting drivers and that. So far i just uninstalled the stuff i didnt want. When i go down to school ill pick up XP pro and if clean installs are easier then ill do a clean install with XP pro. Anyways just wanted to ask if theres anything i should do or i should be aware of with the new comp. I think the next thing i do is the USB fix, but do the new fixes out always work or does it go back to the way it was after standby? Thanks for all the help everyone

supposedly per the directions, it goes away.
hey try and do me a favor. Put your unit on either standby or hibernation for a few hours each and tell me how much your battery drops. read my post about hibernation issues

Has a *permanent* USB fix come out yet? All of the registry-based ones I've heard of will work, but only until the first time you put the computer into standby or hibernate - after you restore it will be like the fix was never applied until you reboot.

Its only a matter of time when an official XP fix is out. I'm waiting for the real one.
