I just saw the new sony e series laptops. Are they supposed to replace the NW series? Also when are they due out?
Thanks

Though Sony did not explicitly say it's replacing the NW series, you can pretty much deduce that from the fact there's only one model of the NW on the Sony site now and the VAIO E is the same 15.5" form factor with a budget price. The VAIO E is available configure to order now and would ship by beginning of March. I'm not sure when pre-config models will be available in retailers.

Only E serie models are EB (end of feb), more will come: EC (17.3 - start of march) and EA ( 14.1 - end of match)

wow. i didnt think there would be multiple e series. I thought that was speculation. I am looking for a college laptop, probably 14 or 15. So it was between the cw and e, as well as some non sony models. But I may have to wait a while longer now.

source? i've been waiting forever for a nice i5 14" notebook as i've been having to deal with my 3y/o toshiba that has 1/3 of its screen cracked since aug 09. i've been waiting for asus to release the u83jc, but still no word on that. are there any leaked specs for the EA?Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
We currently have the CW available in the US and Canada.. it's a 14" that comes with i5..
Only thing is it doesn't come with backlit keyboard and for now the only available resolution is 1366x768Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

too bad I couldn't wait because a 14" E model would have been interesting.
What are the differences between the E 14" and CW? -
Any probability for the EA be thinner than the CW ? I planning to get the CW offer in bestbuy but, I think I can wait if sony will produce something not as bulky as the CW but with the same configs ...

My guess would be that it won't since the Sony E seems to be the entry line of laptops am I right?

yes, the e is budget. but so is the cw? Right now I am leaning towards the cw because the edge to edge keyboard could be annoying if my left hand is hanging over the edge, especially if my right hand is not. And also, the cw will stay silent and cool. But right now i need to decide if i want to pay for the 900p screen, better graphics card, and better processor. I want to, but for $150, eh...
convince me to upgrade, or wait for the e? 15" is fine with me too.
