Err... did we miss something here? The new Sony SZ series is up on b2b.sony.com and SonyStyle.ca (but STRANGELY not on the Japanese one). Santa Rosa and wireless-N are new, rest is unchanged (the GeForce has been upgraded from 7400 to 8400 though, also sadly no DVI / HDMI / SSD storage, but 1.69kg and carbon fiber unchanged). What's going on here? How did this one slip through the announcement cracks?

Link here: http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/product/VGN-SZ680+Build-to-Order+Series (more prebuilt models available if you go to http://b2b.sony.com and browse around)

Australia is only up to the sz483n/c model. I am somehwhat doubtful we'll see the same sz6 series ppl have been reviewing here either.

It'll be interesting to see what they bring out for 4th quarter.

This one seems to be black, while the SZ6 I've seen sofar are premium carbon.

I like black. Are there any SZ6 black models already available?

If the SZ was out in Japan with an SSD option, I would have probably brought it over the TZ.

No, we, denizens of the notebookreview.com Sony forum, didn't miss anything . haragr reported this news over a month ago.

    What is interesting is that:

    1. There has been no announcement from Sony.

    2. Sony's stores (Sonystyle, Sony stores) are not selling it, but everyone else (amazon, newegg, Frys, etc.) is.

The SZ pages on the Sonystyle website has been wacky for a month now. Go to any SZ3 or SSZ4 and click on the Learn tab. The Learn page is all about the SZ6!

Oh ok, that makes sense, I should've looked more, hehe. But why is everyone calling it the SZ6? Isn't it the SZ5? The "current model" Japanese one is SZ4, so why did we jump a model?

Search the forum and you will find plenty of discussion about the SZ5. It is not much of an update from the SZ4, and is sold only in a few markets.
