    Hello all,
I am the proud owner of a new Sony VAIO Laptop. SA3. Here is my issue. I just purchased a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma 720P television and a 42 Inch Samsung LED LCD 1080p television. One of the sets will be in my basement on my office wall so that I can do my computer music production work. Using Reasons 4.0 and FL XXL Studio. Which one shoudl I put in my office. I will ocassionaly watch a DVD or a cable tv program however my main purpose will be using it for screen real estate for myt music production work. Please tell me any pitfalls to look for. The 42 Inch Plasma seems really nice for this however I am not an expert and need to know would the plasma 720p work just as good as the led lcd 1080p for my purposes or should I just use the 1080p for the computer and use the plasma 720p for movies and ocassional television in my movie room.

My current computer is in my signature.

1080p for workspace. 720p will do okay for movies, and the plasma would probably be apreciated more in media, at any rate (smoother/deeper contrast/detail in dark scenes).

Wait so the 720p plasma will be better. My blu ray dvds all say 1080p which I don't know if that will make a difference.

The TV with a 1080p display will give you much more real estate than the one with 720p. Therefore you should use the 1080p for your music production. If I understood correctly, the 1080p is LCD, while the 720 is plasma. LCD is a better choice for your computer as pictures burn in to the screen easier on a plasma (note that computer monitors are usually LCD).

Okay thanks.. I hope I don't take a huge hit on my blu ray movies using the 720p plasma. Darn.... I got the plasma for $230 bucks brand new inthe box. I guess you get what you pay for.
