I want to buy either of these two models. If any one one out there already own the 2012 models. Please post your findings here.
The E series were given Ivy Bridge cpu's and 1600MHZ Ram, but S series still stick to 1333Mhz ram+ Ivy.

to Owners: how do you find the performance, new button less trackpad, heat, and fan sound ? IS it worth to spend on the nvidia card ( 100 bucks)

    Thanks :)

Hey I don't own either of these laptops but I'm highly considering on getting the E series , and I've done quite some research .
The gpu is quite decent for gaming , but only on 1366 not 1600 . It's a amd 7670m I believe , which is almost the exact same as the Nvidia gt630m . The S series has the gt640m , which is a pretty hefty amount better than the 640m . Depends how much you want to game on it .

I don't have the 14" E series, but I do have the 15" version of the new E series.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the machine. The trackpad is remarkably good for a PC -- 2-finger scrolling actually works! (I also have a MacBook, so I'm a bit spoiled in this area).

The only downside to the machine is there is too much flex in the keyboard. This is not something I'm used to with Sony machines, just HP's. Now, the 14" might not have it, since it has a smaller keyboard footprint (that is, no numeric keypad). It doesn't seem to cause missed characters when typing, but it is very noticeable.

The ATI graphics card is pretty decent. I routinely get 40-60 fps in Diablo 3 with everything on High except for shadows. I haven't tried any others on it yet, but I would expect it to run things like Skyrim pretty decently.

The machine does warm up quite a bit on the bottom left when you're playing games. You'll definitely need a laptop mat if you're really going to be using it on your lap.
