very expensive though I think I'll wait the US release even though it would be pretty cool to have the japanese keyboard ^^ battery life said to be 18 hours with the huge $450 extended battery pack
HDD model also availiable

Where do you see a japanese keyboard? it said you can configure it with either the US qwerty or the French azerty, no japanese mentioned.

Looks like it will be out in August.
The 2.5" 160g HDD isn't available and looks like the 1.2 ghz speed (u7600) will only be available on the top end model.
I think its a big mistake for sony usa not to have the 2.5 160gb hdd option. -
Based on that pricing it is cheaper for me to order it from Japan now (at least for the SSD/DVD version) and buy my own copy of Vista Business - that's pathetic
-
agreed. that happens quite often though.. i'd much rather pay the extra, esp since i want the bordeaux version which i suspect will not be available in the US, as it's not in currently released markets outside Japan like Europe and HK.
-
Ha, your right, looks like its actually better to order this from Japan if this powerpoint is actually true. August seems too far away, especially since the TZ documentation and drivers are already on the Sonystyle website! -
Ah crap... no premium carb fiber? August? And those prices?? Please someone tell me that isnt right
-
Why can't sony release a gaming notebook!?!?!
-
how much is it???? can someone post it here?? I don't have pp installed on this computer..thanks

WOW...it is expensive..better off ordering it from conics.com. -

Ok, I'm really glad I didn't wait for the US version. That price is HIGH.
Sprint EVDO is the 3G cellular network for the US, it doesn't use a sim card. you would need to sign up for a contract with sprint that allows you go online anywhere that has EVDO coverage.
It look likes the only difference is that they added the WWAN radio inside. Keep in mind that most likely US will only offer black and champagne color, no bourdeux or carbon.
But I guess since the top of the line TX still sells for $2800 retail, the top of the line TZ isn't that "expensive" considering its a redesign. I am glad however, that they are offering the SSD option as well. -

Outrigger cause I am little confused about where to take TZ can you help me? You confirm that you hane all the drivers working like you said in your thread (Vista drivers)? Because i read the other thread about comics.net that they do themselves the installation of Vista. I am not such an expert and i am afraid i will make something wrongClick to expand...
I'm not sure about how conics works since I bought mine from someone else. but it does appear that they keep the drivers on the hard drive so if you want to do a fresh install, just copy the drivers onto a CD and keep it as a backup. -

The Vaio TZ is beautifully in our world. And there will certainly be more models of the TZ to come during the winter. But trying to look (speculatively) ahead: What will the next name in the T series be? There has been TR, T, TX and now at last TZ, and that Z is the last letter in the alphabet. Will the form factor of the T series be named with another letter, and does this have any implications of the plans of future models from Sony with this (or quite similar) form factor?
New Sony Vaio T series coming in July
