    Hello Folks,
Here is my little problem which, i hope, can be solved here.

Anyone here has a Magic Mouse working with the new Z?

Because i do and have this kind of Problem: When using the normal Windows Driver, ist works perfectly, fast, responsive, no lag at all!
Unfortunately the scrool doesn`t work with this drivers.

So i installed the "hacked" one from the net. Installation was easy and fast. Drivers do update and suddenly everything works including vertical, horizontal, and 360° scroll. Zoom with ctrl-button works too.
BUT!!!!!.....The Mouse suddenly became completely unusable because of lag. sometimes it runs nice for 5 minutes and then it lags. sometimes it lags fpr just a few seconds and sometimes for minutes. its just unusable.

So i googled the whole web but there is no solution for it.
I found some points but for me they seem unlogical. Here we go, let me explain:

    1. The WLAN is 2,4ghz and interrupts the bluetooth. people say to switch it to 5ghz.
--> unlogical because i have 2,4ghz wlan and with the normal windows driver(hid) it works perfectly via bluetooth. if the frequency is the problem then it would lag all the time no matter what driver, right?

    2.internal Bluetooth to weak
--> unlogical because again it works with the windows driver. same hardware here so this is not possible.
I also deletetd the foxconn drivers and let windows install the normal drivers. but same thing happens. the hacked driver lags.

how is this possible? seems to be a driver-issue?!
but then why do so many paople say the hacked driver works perfectly!!

    any ideas?
hopefully someone has the new z and the magic mouse to provide a solution!

    Thx
    Dave

Can I ask if this mouse of yours worked with an older Z (if applicable)?

I've got the older Z and running a wifi connection (2.4GHz), along with a bluetooth mouse WHILE sending files to my phone via bluetooth ftp transfer AND listening to WMP through a bluetooth headset, I don't experience any lags at all. Well, maybe the music coming through the headset is delayed by about a second, but the FAQ of the headset states that is possible.

The bluetooth stuff connected to my Z26:
    DR-BT21G (headset / handsfree)
    VGP-BMS55 (mouse)
Sony Ericsson W980 (phone; file transfer)

And if the numerous drivers that you have used all result in the same lag, then I would hve to conclude a hardware issue...

I also have a problem with connecting Microsoft Bluetooth mobile keyboard to my new Vaio Z VPCZ119. No problems with connecting same keyboard to Vaio TZ or the old Z.
I think that the bluetooth drivers are buggy, wouldn't be surprised if an update comes. The questions is just when, Sony have a terrible record of releasing updates...

I also have similar problem with Bluetooth Microsoft Mouse. I think the problem is with Bluetooth drivers. Interestingly similar set of drivers on VPC-CW are also causing problems

thats what i also already did. deleted the foxconn(sony) drivers for bluetooth and let windows handle it. but the mouse still lags with the hacked driver. i mean i can use the normal one fine but i want the damn thing to scroll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you had it scrolling one time you don?t want to go back, especially for 70 euros!!!!!

    No solution yet??
i ordered a bluetooth stack to test it. this is the last thing possible, but again, if it is hardware, then why does it work with windoes drivers???

looks like it HAS to be the hacked drivers. so why are people saying it works perfect with them?

maybe its the combination of the z bluetooth hardware abd the hacked Magic mouse driver??????

man i need a solution, want my z to be perfect!!!

    Hi, DaveDaRook!

While this is just pure conjecture, my guess is that Sony may have gotten a little too aggressive in their power management, and they further neglected to include the "knobs" to control it (it's interesting that someone else reported a similar issue on the fingerprint sensor). Both of these devices may well be getting turned off after some time threshold.

I'm sorry that I can't recommend a fix, but I'll bet that this is the root cause. Here's hoping that Sony gets out a fix. Perhaps if we start contacting them in this context, it might help lead to greater attention.

    Good Luck!

    thx for the replies guys!!
but its so weird, isn`t it?

it can''t be the sony bluetooth hardware because with normal windows bluetooth mousedrivers it works perfectly. wit wlan on.

and the power management thing....again, same argument.

im pretty sure its a combination of the hacked bootcamp driver with the vaio bluetooth. maybe the driver works completely different and causes problems.

as i said, next week i will get a micro bluetooth stack and will disable the internal bluetooth. this is the last thing. if that doesn't work, i have to live without scrolling or wait for apple to release some official windows drivers.

but the were rumored in december 09 and its late march so my prediction is: apple will never release official drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sad but true in my eyes....

    Hi, Dave!

No, there's no inconsistency re: power management at all. My point is that I'm guessing that Sony has messed up on the power management code in their new driver.

    FYI,

My magic mouse works perfectly with the new Z.

The problem here is the driver - you need to install the apple magic mouse driver (Apple Inc. Date 11/30/09, Version 3.0.0.6) from boot camp 3.1 x64 to make the mouse properly work.

Buty you may only find 3.0.0.5 version on the Internet. I only extracted the 3.0.0.6 version driver from boot camp 3.1 by myself.

Try installing just the HW bluetooth driver, then either install the Widcomm stack or look into IVT BlueSoliel. The default MS bluetooth stack is a steaming pile. Personally I'd go with the Widcomm.

still the same problem with the 3.0.0.5 driver.
mouse f****ing lags and is unusable!!!

but it seems like windows is trying to change the drivers, or forces this. and when i try to install it manually it says its not compatible.... :(

    damn, what is this???
its hard to believe yout mouse works with your Z, cause we got the same hardware.
    crazy stuff....

just extracted it from the latest Boot Camp update , only use the standard M$ win 7 stack and bobs your uncle... 0 issues...

Played around on my macbook under BC to ensure the correct operation ... no use it on my Z & SR...

On both I did do a clean install with only the bare metal stuff from Sony to ensure that no issues from thier "Standard" apps etc...

when i install the bootcamp driver i have 2 devices: apple magic mouse and the microsoft hid.
and one device showos the bootcamp driver in properties, while the other mouse shows windows driver. i think thats the problem. but when i try to install the apple.inf manually it says its not compatible and the action gets aborted... :(

man i think i will use it without scroll, and maybe wait for some official drivers or new bootcamp version :)

Send me an email to: [email protected]

I'll send you my hacked 3.0.0.6 version driver...

I believe if you use the default SONY system with this driver, the magic mouse will certainly work perfectly like mine...

Hey guys, finally i solved the problem!!!
Took me 2 days of continues driver-switches, wlan frequency changes and so on.

the problem was definetely the driver.

here is the solution for the new z:

first of all deinstall the foxconn bluetooth drivers.
windows will then search for new and install some "no name" drivers from microsoft.

then add the mouse normally and upgrade the microsoft mousedriver with this one:
    http://zepman.tweakblogs.net/blog/3491/verbeterde-apple-magic-mouse-drivers-voor-windows.html

this combination now works perfectly, with scroll, horizontal and vertical plus 360°.

no lag at all. hope this will stay this way and maybe i could help some of you.

    Dave :D
