Hi,
I purchased a Sony Vaio earlier this week, so far I love it. Windows 7 (obviously), processor i3, 4GB memory, 64-bit OS, 320 GB. It works like a dream except for one thing I noticed just a little while ago - heat on the left side (my left, facing the computer). It seems like it's more heat than it should be but it's not causing the machine to shut down or be slow. The computer is also still quiet - if I stick my head right on it I hear a little noise but nothing out of the ordinary - just regular processing sounds. The task manager indicates that about 1.67 GB of memory is being used, but I'm not really running a lot of apps - i.e., itunes, explorer and a remote desktop connection to my work computer.
Basically what all this boils down to, is should I be worried? It's not burning but it's definitely hotter than my previous laptops (dells).

Maybe it'll help to provide the model, so that folks with similar ones can provide accurate responses
Mine blows quite a bit of hot air to the left, the machine itself stays pretty cool. Maybe you could measure and post the actual temperatures as well, that might help us get a sense of things. -
Oops, thought I had done that.
It's an E Series, VPC-EB11FM. -
What thermal strategy is selected in vaio control panel? Silent, balanced, or performance?
New Sony Vaio hot?
