Can someone either point me in the right direction for a few peices of information? I have a TT-190UBX, 256SSD, Blu-Ray, 1.4 GHZ, 4GB RAM, etc.

1.) I am getting what I think to be very slow boot times. I know Sony has programs running in the background that slow boot times, can anyone tell me exactly what to uninstall or delete? Any other ways to get the system to book more quickly. I am at about 3 or so minutes and with the dual SSD drives I was expecting more.

2.) I cannot turn the light sensor off. I have gone into the power schemes and changed and verified that the adaptive display is set to off, but the screen will only let me go a certain brightness that it feels appropriate. I like a brighter screen but cannot get it when I am in a dim or dark room.

3.) Is there a way to integrate an EVDO card except in the PC slot? I am not a huge fan of the ones that stick out of the machine.

Again, any help or guidence would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!!

    Hello,

My TT runs very well with Vista. It boots in 50 seconds, uses from 500 to 600 MB RAM and has low disk activity.

I have done a half-clean install. Then I have disable the Vista indexes system (and remove indexes on drive C: ) , Vista Search engine, Backup/restore Vista feature. I have stopped some services (Tablet PC, … ;). I have defragmented boot files

Check theses links for halp :

Have you tried to turn it off via Vaio Control Center software (in the control panel) ?

Check your TT. It may have SIM card slot behind the battery. My TT has got one. By I know the lower priced model hasn't got this slot.

Would I still need a modem if there is a SIM card slot?

No, the SIM slot is part of the modem, and the Vaio also has the built-in antennas.

Thanks for all of the help. So all I would need to do it get a SIM card from a provider and install the software from Sprint and the computer will see the SIM card?

If your TT has a built-in SIM card slot : yes.
