    Hey guys i want to buy the New Sony VAIO S15 but i got some questions about it (The Search doesn’t seem to work on the forum… ;). And sorry if this questions are obvious im a noob :).

    1- Does anyone have any Benchmarks of the RAID 0 SSD 256GB Read and Write Speeds on this laptop?

    2- Does it worth having a RAID 0 even though it doesn’t have TRIM Support? Could it be supported in the future and this won’t be an issue later on?

    3- I read in Anandtech that choosing OEM SSDs is not a good idea cause they tend to be worse than the retail ones, is this true with SONY S? (Because the Sony Z SSDs Benchmarks looks pretty Good...)

    4- I heard this laptop is locked to SATA II but it have SATA III support, is this true?

    5- I Plan to use this laptop for about 3 Years, Does the performance on RAID 0 will drop over the time Vs the performance on the Samsung 830?

    6- Is the speed difference noticiable in real world betwen the RAID 0 SSD 256GB (6gb/s?) and the Samsung 830 (3gb/s Locked?)?

    Btw Im using it for normal Word, PowerPoint, Browsing Stuff And some moderate Gaming.

    Also the specs would be i7-3612QM and 640M LE 2GB.

    I didn't even know that the New VAIO S15 was already released.

    In the Spanish Sony Vaio's webpage you can only find the previous model...

    see the bolded answers above. I just got one for my sister and she's not complaining. Although the IPS panel has the orange masquerading as red problem as in the Envy 15 (they're the same LG panel... so unless LG fixes it, or someone else has a 15.5" panel, you're stuck with that, doesn't bother my roommate on the Envy 15 or my sister on the SVS15)

    Hi, I just got the new VAIO S 15 and the resolution, display etc. is good but texts are tiny. Please what settings should I use so things could be normal?
    This is my first post, I'm new on this site. Thanks

    @ceasarkakwat

    There is an option on Windows to increase the font size, that or you can reduce resolution. I would go with the first though.

    There's no point in doing RAID 0 setups with SSDs. The speed difference might be double (or close to it) but you can lose TRIM (this depends on the manufacturer and OS) and you since you won't notice the difference in speed in RAID 0 and not, it isn't worth the hassles and potential data loss. I've done this on my desktop and I can assure you, there's absolutely no gains from it unless you've got very specific uses.

    Don't bother with RAID 0.
