    Hi All
So i purchased one, and so far i am happy.

On the sony website i saw this picture and it is one of the main reasons i purchased so i could connect 3 24inch displays at work.

VAIO Z Series Laptops | Sony Store USA

I cannot figure out how I connect 3 HD displays through the Media Dock (not using vga)
    Thanks

Damn that Sony picture is hella misleading. They don't show any wires connected to anything except the PMD into the computer.

The only way to get 3 externals hooked out of the box is 1 through the laptop's HDMI (or is it the VGA? I'm not 100% sure), 1 through the dock's HDMI, and 1 through the VGA on the dock.

You can't get them all connected through the dock without other peripherals.

(Can you hook four external monitors to the Z? 1 through HDMI on the laptop, 1 through VGA on the laptop, 1 through HDMI on the dock, and 1 through VGA on the dock?)

Thanks - well that is a total CON... I wouldnt want 3 monitors connected via 3 different methods

    1 x via laptop HDMI
    1 x Dock - HDMI
    1 x Dock - VGA

The picture quality and colours would be all different

maybe i need to use 2 of these
IOGEAR - GUC2020DW6 - USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card

The two HDMI connections should both look the same. It is my understanding that all the ports will be driven by the Radeon when the PMD is connected.

The VGA out is dumb though.

    Looks like older Viewsonic displays

The external box can either accelerate displays plugged into the PMD OR displays plugged into the laptop (including the built in panel), but not BOTH.

E.G. if you plug in an HDMI monitor into the PMD and want to use the built in display, the built in display will run off of the intel graphics and the HDMI monitor will run off of the AMD graphics.

If you need both the built-in display AND an external display to both be accelerated by the AMD GPU you will need to plug the HDMI monitor into the vaio directly and in the CCC change the configuration to accelerate notebook-connected displays.

Or you could go the ViDock way. ComputerCowboy has me green with envy over that.

Maybe one of the 3 monitors would jave to be running off of the intel wireless display?
