Well i am pretty familiar with the Vaios (have 7 right now :) . I got my current Vaio on 1 month preorder in Italy so i know what it has inside.

It has the gobi 2000 hs module, it is "on" in the smart network, when i open globetrotter it says "device not found" It's strange Sony doesn't put a software to make this thing work, it's a premium noetbook after all... or maybe i just don't know how to set it up (the documentation doesn't have infos regarding this).

    Thanks,

I really don't get why you are using globetrotter software, that is for the USB 3G modems. I would remove that.

1.Remember to put in the sim card in (behind the battery)
2.Download the one for VAIO's here: VAIO : Sony Europe

Scroll all the way down and get the one called "WWAN Software"
Once installed go to settings>firmware and flash to your carrier, if not supported use the Generic one.

    3.Restart
4.Get the settings from your provider and connect using Oneclick.

Globetrotter connect used to work with integrated 3g cards as well, it came already installed on my SZ71WN notebook and worked great.
However i am downloading this driver right now...i will let you know!

    Thanks,

Globetrotter connect only works for Option's 3G Card (the one in SZ71WN). You need Gobi Qualcomm's OneClick Internet for Gobi 2000.

    Thanks Blue! Thanks NHT.

I found the one click software with the search option...finally, i wasn't aware that it installs the software too, thought it downloads only the drivers for the wwan. All Ok, works like a charm!
