User Interface has changed quite a bit.

It's also now compatible with IE8's rendering engine (previous Vaio Care versions would crash when rendering checkup reports. Boots much faster than it used to and seems to work with Vista a bit better in general, though I've not looked at every feature.
good piece of software to have an allow to run if you haven't before. FYI.

Where do you download it?
Any other user experience with this app?
I don't have it on my Vaio Z, but I have a few annoying glitches; should I run it? -
it came on my computer's preload. it loads when my computer boots, so I guess it also checks for updates by itself.
I find it to be a good app for regristry tuning, junk file deleting and that kind of stuff.
If you don't have it and Sony won't give it to you for some reason (I'd call in), grab Tuneup Utilities 2009.

It's absolutely fantastic, and as a tech support guy for several years, I never recommend this kind of software...but this really is fantastic. I've installed it on all my computers. It's cut my boot time by 30%.
Just grab the full-featured free trial version. If you're not satisfied, come let me know. -
Win 7 - not working?
-
no, not yet compatible with Win 7.

Pretty much all of Sony's in-house software isn't compatible with Vista either. It works if you leave all default settings like good sheeple, but if you do horrible things like setting the DPI to the correct value, they bug out.
Sony's programmers haven't followed Microsoft's guidelines, and mix scalable fonts (set in points) with non-scalable areas (set in pixels). (Hint, Sony, if you need to use non-scalable graphics, you also HAVE to set the fonts in pixel size, not point size. Or, better, let both scale. Microsoft warns about that at least three different places in their developer documentation).
Luckily, few of Sony's utilities are really needed. And almost every other developer on the planet have now come to terms with MS guidelines, and ceased using 1990's programming techniques. -
I would consider Vaio Care as another bloatware by Sony.
-
am gonna check it out ... -
It's working but still poping up windows (those two on left)
Yeah and .. I managed knackered win 7 boot screen
Because there is Vista default set in that soft and now I have is blank screen ..

not sure why it's not better known, but I'm glad you grabbed it. it's absolutely fantastic.
I recommend it to everyone now. -
I installed the new Vaio Care through an automatic update last night and again today, it stops working when I try to run it. Talked to a Sony tech in San Diego (top level and very knowledgable) who said they have been flooded with calls about the same issue - it works on some computers and not on others, they believe it may be caused by a recent Office update. When the fixed version is available it will be posted on the support page for your model, it has not been posted yet because they are having problems with this version. He also said the automatic update was supposed to be pulled but I received it twice in the last 24 hours.
New Vaio Care software update out. (3.0.0.0423)
