    Hey guys-
I just got a F12 from Costco- smoking deal I think. I just finished booting it up and now going to create the Recovery Discs. Once that's complete, I'd like to yank out the HD that came with it (500gb 5400rpm) and throw in a 7200rpm and do a clean install.

I've seen a lot of talk out there about doing this- but a ton of confusing info as well. I know with my old HP, you had to replace the HD with the same size/speed HD to use their recovery discs. I hope that's not the same with Sony.

Will I run into any problems doing this? I read that I can download a full version of Windows 7 from Microsoft, burn a dvd of it- and do a clean install using my existing s/n that's on my laptop.

Can someone point me in the right direction here?

    I appreciate the help!
