Hi everyone, I am interested by the new Vaio Pro 13 SVP1322C5E (available on Sony Store UK and France)
The model indicated it has the new AC wifi (a/b/g/n/ac). Does anybody with this model can confirm it doesn't have the wifi issues of the older version (a/b/g/n)
Thanks

Hi. I've ordered this exact model, estimated delivery is the 19th. I can update with results after some tests.
-
I wonder if Sony will release the new AC wifi here in the U,S, I don't see this on any of their Pro 13's on the U.S. Sony site. With Sony selling their VAIO brand, I'd like to purchase their most latest Pro 13 possible. Any conformation when it's due out here in the U.S.?
-
usually for the US market, releases come out like 3 months later than everywhere else. so i expect like june/july probably.
-
I ordered the same (Sony Vaio Pro 13 - SVP1322C5E) and it'll be sent between 14.02 and 19.02
I'll let you know as soon as I get it. In the meantime, if someone has some news, just let me know.
Ciao! -
I also order it before just before the offer on the 256 SSD expired.
Let's hope the rework on the wifi give decent performance !!
I should get it around begin 2nd week of march, keep you in touch... -

Something new on the wifi-issues in the refreshed Vaio Pro? -
Yeah, I got it inhouse now. I had some issues in the beginning with 2.4Ghz band with max. speeds of 2-3 Mbit down, 2 Mbit up. After loading all Windows updates and latest wifi driver (16.10.0.5) it improved for a while, but after a while it went back down again. Though today I opened it up and so far it's been fine on 2.4Ghz. On the 5Ghz band it appears to be no issues. However I only seem to get a link speed of 144Mbps and I'm about 1m from the router, router is set to 802.11n only. This is normal perhaps? I was maybe expecting a higher link speed, 300 Mbps or higher perhaps. The router is Asus RT-N66U.
Copying a file from my desktop to the vaio yields an average speed of 5-5.5 MBps (40ish mbits), the other way round yields 6-7 MBps (56ish mbits). -
What about the fan noise, or the terribad trackpad?
any improvements over the original? -
I know the CES announcement said the US models would be updated in April, but there are two new models on the Sony Store website now (SVP13223CX and SVP13226PX, identical specs except SSD capacity: i7-4500U, 8 GB RAM, 128 or 256 GB SSD)...are there more to come, or are these two all we're getting? -
The i7-4650U and HD 5000 configuration on the UK Sony site was available via the customize option, but the customize option is not yet available on the US site. Will it eventually be available? Who knows at this point. -
That's what I was thinking, but I'd hoped someone might know otherwise. *sigh* I guess I can put off the decision a few more weeks and see if anything new turns up on the Sony US site.
Thanks for the reply, though! -
two of the i7 models on the US store are now out of stock for a while, i dont really think they'll restock these. if they dont go with the newer model these might have been the last models.
The red i7 is still in stock. Obviously its very expensive. -
Dont wait too long, sony us and japan will follow Sony Europe and discontinue the vaio line.

So is the new intel ac 7260 card any good? Is it better than the N 7260 that was plague with horror issues?

lovelaptops MY FRIENDS CALL ME JEFF!
I have posted this same thought on another thread, but I really think anyone considering purchasing any Vaio from Sony - but especially the Pro 13, which not only had wifi problems, but also trackpad problems and a mushy keyboard. I think your money is best spent on another brand at this time and wait until the new owners have established just what they will be doing with the Vaio line. Wtty support on any models purchased now will be iffy at best. Even in the "good old days," Sony wtty support was pretty bad.
Save yourself a lot of headaches and either wait or choose another brand this time around. That's my advice, for what it's worth. -
So you don't think the new 7260 ac cards on the new pro fix the wifi issue? What you think about a Vaio Duo 13? The only reason I'm considering a sony vaio laptop is to at least own and keep one for collection since they are selling the VAIO. -

And now the Red Edition is out of stock. My hopes of getting a US-market SVP1322 with the i7-4650 and 512GB SSD are fading fast.
-
damn , i was thinking of pulling the trigger on the red next week
i dont think theres a single vaio pro 13 with a 512GB SSD available anywhere -
Red back in stock at the moment. I don't think it's worth the premium price, but if that's the one you want, I'd order ASAP. VAIO Pro 13 | red edition - SVP1321BPXR Review | Sony Store U.S. - Sony US
