Here's hoping for an unannounced screen change in the SA.
-
I would not expect the SA to get any new screen, and if anything I do not see much changing here, maybe some new cpus and perhaps a slightly cheaper price on some models.
-
No screen changes.
-
The Z is the one that needs a smaller bezel....
-
I doubt that it's possible to reduce the Z2's size now without reducing its capabilities.
-
Increase the screen to fill the bezel, then???
-
I have to say that Sony is going way overboard with these "expression" style computers. Nothing wrong with a nice design like the Z2 but do people (kids actually....because I can't see many adults buying these for themselves) really want to draw that much attention to their computers?
-
Here's an overview of the refresh, nothing that special or that hasn't been hashed over before.

There's just something oddly appealing about that golden Z

I second that. If you haven't seen it in the flesh, you are in for a treat - it's way, way more elegant looking than the pictures reveal. Never thought I'd say this, but it's worth getting for the appearance alone! -
Although it would be very cool if Sony had implemented speakers inside fat bezel (something like Asus NX90 series, to lesser extent of course).

Where can you get the golden Z? I browsed through the CTO models, but apparently the color choices aren't available, even for the Z23.
Are they again promoting the "Signature Z" with different color options? -
It would have been very cool if Sony has implemented usable speakers anywhere in the Z2.
On the other hand, I don't think there's the spare room anywhere in there. -
I thought it's wide to follow layout of bottom part (eg. in order to make laptop thinner, they also made it wider but wanted to keep 13.1" screen - hence fat bezel) Otherwise it would be as thin as with VGN/VPC Z

Whats about new SE2? Any changes in display and battery life? I mean red/orange issue.

Fortunately, it's available on any CTO, even the base model at $1,949. You choose the color on the second page of the configuration set up. -
Has Sony fixed the horrible "screen teeter" on the S-series? For a high end notebook, it's hard to imagine how Sony could produce such loose hinges. It must be impossible to use these computers in a car or on train.
I'm glad to see that Sony is still in the PC business - although I don't know if this Sandy Bridge update is a sign of a continued dedication to the Vaio brand or if Sony is just trying to use up inventory and doesn't plan an Ivy Bridge line. Actually, I'm almost surprised Sony is still in this sector, given the huge losses and the decline in the overall Windows PC market. I guess PS4 will be the make or break product for Sony. -
personally, i think the loose hinge is on purpose so that users can use one finger to open the screen on such a light laptop. As for the screen refresh, i doubt the SA and the SB will get full HD display (article said S series so might just be the 15" SE). So most likely minor changes on the processors and IPS
-
The hinge is much tighter on the SA3 revisions, already, especially vs the SA2.
-
It would have been very cool if Sony had implemented usable speakers in any of their laptops
-
F2?
No, seriously, I don't find any laptop speakers useable beyond knowing an audio source exists. Maybe that will change one day... but not the way sound is currently generated from a laptop.
