And this Z21WN is identical to the Z11VN except of the hd, so what's the new in this?

Because the "old" FW, SR and Z serie is only 3 months old, there will be little change.

I can bet that the new SR will have a improved mouse click. Why Sony made the SR100's with a noisy *** click yet were able to make the Z with a quiet click is beyond me. Not to mention the scraping DVD drive..come on how can you not notice that? They always have flaws that even a computer illiterate person could notice in 5 minutes.

HOW ABOUT PRE-RELEASE SOME MODELS TO THE PUBLIC NEXT TIME SONY AND GET FEEDBACK BEFORE YOU MASS RELEASE. STOP WITH THIS IDIOTIC- EVERY 2-3 MONTH BUILD QUALITY UPDATE CRAP.

The FZ's lack of space bar click response on the edges is one example I remember from the FZ100. As well as it's raised/bumpy keyboard.

The synaptics touchpad has tap zones, so i don't use the buttons at all, lol. Plus, i use the sony laser mouse. I guess they're kinda loud, but most new laptops have louder clicety clackety buttons.

The scraping thing....eh, its not really that big of a deal... i wouldnt really call it a "flaw", but, i feel like they wont change that since its not much of an issue.

My guess... bluray, the wider variety of proccesors(including the cheapo crappy T5800 or watever that is 2.0 ghz.), maybe an HDMI port and maybe a better GPU(they better not!).

I think they are upgrading their lineup mostly so they can sell cheapo ones at bestbuy for 1300(with a 2.0 ghz, integrated, lower quality maybe non LED screen, etc.) and throw in some premium options for people who want to pay for them on the CTO's and SonyStyle webpage... I doubt they will make anything that will make us prior SR owners upset that we didnt wait....unless they add a better GPU...and then i'll hate Sony forever (cries)

What are ATI M26-LP and ATI M82XT? Are these new video cards? Faster than Radeon 3650?

the ATI m82XT is a 3470 and the m26LP is a (i dotn think this is right) a mobilty x700, a very weak card.

Aha! So my guess(also ILoveMoogles) guess that Sony will be releasing cheapo crappy SR's for the BestBuy market is totally true. They will sell it with a 2.0ghz proccessor, the cheapo GPU, 3gb of Ram, and charge 1300-1400 for it...

    Stupid BestBuy....

Although...something is fishy about that M26LP... first off, the notebook has similiar specs and is like 300 Euro more expensive...and second off its a 512mb card...which makes NO SENSE for a x700...so perhaps its some more gaming intensive model(and simply a typo)...with a better gpu...so that theory still stands

I'm in the US ... I am planning on going to a SonyStyle store mid Oct to get my eyes/hands on a Z (and maybe an SR just because) before ordering since I missed the campus deal. :p

I get back from vacation late October (23rd) and would order within a week or two since I'd then know what I want.

Any guesses if a refresh may be happening in the US right about then? I'd kinda hate to buy it only to find out a week and a half later a new one comes out with slightly better specs for the same $. :p

    Exactly my thoughts...

If I remember good, Geee told that is coming a refresh of the Z with 128x2 GB SSD and blu-ray. Hey man, maybe you can pass accidentaly again from the shop and ask something more precise about the time? :)

I would guess that any refresh would happen around or just before then, to ensure that there would be awareness (and stock) for the holiday shopping season.

But then again I don't work in marketing for a reason :p

So, no 2.8GHz processor for EU models refresh (SR and FW)? Wonder when it will be introduces (if ever) in Europe. Maybe with re/refresh :)?

So, there is no model combining a "P" processor and an ATI 3650 video card? Also, no 1920x1080 option for the screen (like the american models)? The only thing that changed compared to the current FW series is the HDD... crap.

I would expect the WN model will also come with HSDPA WWAN, whereas the MN won't, if the new models mirror the Z11 series.
