    Hello All,

I just purchased a tt290yab with 1.4ghz blueray and all the trimmings. So I though I would post and introduce my self...

After owning a vaio P as my sole machine for a year this thing flys even with vista installed and untweaked.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice, things I could tweak... Best video playing software etc.. ?

Also my laptop came refurbished and has the noise cancelling capability but I don't have the headphones. Anyone know where I can get some? Or the part number for them so I could call sony? I tried the ones from my vaio P but they dont work.

    Thanks!

    Alex

Nice buy but hope you got a good price for it. I talked with the Conics folks and Sony is releasing a new model of the T series in two months. Sorry, not meaning to take away from your purchase but I just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware and there is a return policy.

There is a TT owners lounge. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=344005
I posted some tweaks that i carried out on the last page.
I haven't come across any TT owners having problems with the bluray drive yet. Most seem to just use PowerDVD or Intervideo and seem happy enough with that.

Of course we will have to wait and see if that new model materalises, it will be good if it does.

Make sure you upgrade to Windows 7 and 4GB ram if you haven't already. Would also very highly recommend sticking in an SSD like the Intel X18-m (although I thought I read somethig about SSD and Blu-Ray not being ideal together? might be something to check out). I made these changes and my TT felt like a totally different machine.
