    Hi everyone,
Just got a Sony Vaio SZ450 in AUS today after 2 months waiting for delivery from USA Ebay. It's gorgeous but there's one thing that I'm really concern is the battery. I havent done anything to the lappy and it's still in the box. However, what should I do the battery initially? fully charge and then discharge by using the laptop on power till the batt's out? Is that battery caliberation? And when I use the laptop at home, should I take the battery off the laptop to preserve the capacity? Sorry about the too many questions but my current laptop which is an HP NC4000 only lasts for 45 minutes on battery at the moment and that's really scary. Thanks all!

I usually take the battery out of the laptop to preserve its life. I've had laptops in the past where the life of the battery would decrease because I had left it in the laptop.
