    If you're having sleep related issues and/or frequent disconnections/ dropouts, try the new drivers for your network adapters (wired and wifi) posted on Intel's website. Do not rely on Windows Update to find the best driver for you. I'm using Windows 8 x64 on a VPCZ1 and struggled with the above mentioned issues for days before finding this simple fix.
