Just got home with my new s150. I am going to partition the drive and do some updates. If anyone has any helpful hints I would appreciate it.

Can I use the PC2700 DDR 512MB modules from my GRT360ZG in a S150? Thanks

i read that sony partitions its harddrive. one partition has no files in it while the other contains the recovery files which the owner should burn to cd. i am wondering if you could "unpartition" the harddrive (after you burn the recovery disks of course.) is this possible? i'd hate to see some harddrive space go wasted.

Yes, you can merge and resize the hard drive's partitions but you will need to buy software to do this because Windows hard disk management software does not provide this functionality. I recommend PartitionMagic. If you're going to do this I strongly urge you to perform a full backup of all your hard drive's partitions. I use DriveImage. I don’t recommend Norton's Ghost. I stopped using it after I was unable to restore a drive because Ghost was unable to read the backup file (and I had Ghost Verify the backup after it was created.) Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

FYI, PartitionMagic and DriveImage were manufactured by PowerQuest but they were acquired by Symantec earlier this year.
