    Hi all,

I recently bought myself a sz330 to take with me while I study abroad in Australia next semester and I had a few "housekeeping" questions... First, I noticed, like many others, that there were many, many unnecessary programs that came with the computer and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me which ones I wouldn't really need/a description of some of them. I've removed some of the obvious ones, like those games that came with it, but I'm reluctant to remove others because I'm afraid they may be needed to run the computer.

Also, I've heard that you should create recovery disks. How do I go about doing this? I also saw a thread on doing a semi-restore. I'm not exactly sure what that is. Is that necessary to do?

Is there anything else anyone would recommend I do?

I'm sure these questions have come up in other threads, but I'm new to this forum and there are so many threads to go through.

    Thanks in advance!

Those programs are called bloatware, many geeks do all sorts of stuff (including editing the registry) to get rid of them,it's up to you,but make sure not to remove any driver-related apps.(I have heard that Vaios come with all sorts of bloatware),and to get rid of the Norton thing - if you have one - download some utility @ symantec's website.

There are many ways to create them.Refer to your manual, there might be already some utility on it to do backup. Also there should be a recovery partition, if there is one burning the partition to CD/DVD with utils like Norton Ghost will do the trick.
Note : There is already a guide - i think - in the dummy guides section.
