Hello all, brand new to the forums. I currently own a dell inspiron 6000 and am looking at purchasing a sony vaio but I don't know a ton about them. I see they get pretty good reviews on CNET and the new F series is highly rated. I am leaning toward the VPCF1190X CTO which you can customize. This is what i've come up with so far. I've chosen to upgrade a few things. I chose to go with windows professional 7, 500gb hard drive (7200rpm) instead of the 320, 6gb memory instead of 2gb and blu ray player. These are the specs

    Order Price
    $1329.99
    and as low as $ 39.90 /month**
    Estimated Ship Date 03/04/2010

    Intel® Core™ i7-720QM processor (1.60GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 2.80GHz
    Genuine Windows® 7 Professional 64-bit
    Black
    500GB Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm)
    6GB (4GBx1 + 2GBx1) DDR3-SDRAM-1333
    Blu-ray Disc™ player (reg.price $90.00)
    16.4" VAIO Display (1600x900) with NVIDIA® GeForce® 310M GPU (512MB VRAM)

Here is a link to the main customizing page...is there anything that any of you would recommend changing that I didn't? Thanks for any and all help!

I would go for the higher resolution screen and the GT330 graphics card.

Definately what ota-con said... those are things you can't upgrade down the road if you needed. And the G310m isn't really meant for display resolutions above 1366x768. It'll be fine for everyday things, but it won't drive games at that resolution with playable framerates.

Extended warranties are always a good idea, if they're price is ok that is. Best Buy's 2 year extended warranty is good, but I don't know about the others.
