Hello I am new to the forum and have a question about upgrading a processor for Sony Vaio AR730E. It has a T8100 2.1GZ processor and I want to put in a T9600 2.8GZ processor. The difference is front side bus from 800 to 1100 I think and of course the speed. Also want to upgrade the hard drive to a Intel X-28 SSD processor, will both of these be compatible and workable? I feel confident the SSD drive will work but the processor I am not so sure about?
    Thanks

You can not upgrade the CPU if they have different FSB but you can upgrade the SSD.

First of all, welcome to the forums, Turbo9.

I believe the T9600 will not work in your Vaio AR. I think the "max" for that laptop is the Intel T9500 2.6GHz CPU. I could be wrong though.

OK so if I go with the T9500 instead, the front side bus appears to be 800 which is what I have now. How do I replace it? Instructions thread perhaps or is it rather complicated? The SSD drive I think will be relatively easy... I hope :)
