While trying to listen to piano piece, i noticed that the interference is quite loud and disturbing.

    Anyone have similar issues?

I tried using different mp3 players, drivers, mp3s but the interference is still there. It must be the speakers.

Can anyone confirm this on their Z?

turn the volume up to max, play a quiet song and u will hear it for sure.

It's the Z that needs testing.

    thanks,
    Gus.

I get distortion through the internal speakers at anything over about 50% volume, but I put that down to the speakers (I've never experienced good speakers on a small laptop) and it should be resolved when listening via the headphone jack.

Or do you also get interference when listening on decent headphones or external speakers?

No distortion thru the headphones jack, it's the internal speakers that are causing the problem. I agree, internal speakers are often pretty lame, but why connect them to a soundcard that produced too much power for them to handle??
Surely it's childsplay (for a laptop designer) to tune the power output of the soundcard to the capabilities of the speaker? Thats why Im concerned something is wrong - and hoping it can be fixed!

    Hello

Try changing the Sound setting on enhancement put check on Environment and Loudness Equalizer. Also change it to Indoor speaker. and also try using a headphone check if it will also distorted using headphones.

Thanks for the tips Babydarklord, but unfortunately it doesnt solve the distortion. The Loudness makes my music sound a bit better though! cheers.

Try putting a check also on the Equalizer and try it again. Ill try to check if this is a hardware issue on Driver problem. I keep you all posted.
