Seems like they're due, it's been a few months if you don't count the U750. I suspect they might have somthing to say at the CES. They have a press conference scheduled for the 5th.

Hopefully, they change the K series. They are great notebooks but are bulky and consume too much power. And from there K33 Spec Sheet (PDF) they consume 168Watts of power + 10%. I don't know what the 10% is; maby it's additional power for when your charging the laptop and running it at the same time (multi tasking).

Toshiba - Quality, price, and features!

Alright, the new line-up is announced in Japan and the big surprise is that a lot of them use 915 chipset:

    http://www.jp.sonystyle.com/Style-a/Product/index.html

    On the "Home Notes":

A Series gets upgraded to 915 chipset and ATI X600 + 128 MB VRAM.

E Series, well, it's not available in US so far.

K Series is gone, replaced by F Series -- and it looked very nice both externally and internally, with the option to go Nvidia 6200 + 128 MB VRAM.

    In the "Mobile Notes":

B & T Series have minimum updates and looks like they only get better CPUs.

Y Series steps in to the market left by V505, but is ridiculously heavy for the size with no internal optical drive.

And boy oh boy, look what they have done with the S series -- releasing both 855 and 915 chipset version at the same time. The 915 chipset one comes with Nvidia 6200 + 128 MB VRAM. I was wrong that they are not going to jump in the 915 chipset this quickly in S (and they didn't do so on any other Mobile Notes). Don't know how that's going to affect the battery life, but rejoice, mobile 3D gamers. [ :D]

EDIT: OK, just read the review on the desktop Nvidia 6200 and I am not quite sure this new mobile chip will actually outperform the Radeon 9700 + 64 MB very much, especially if the onboard Turbocache is only 16 MB.[} :)] Guess I don't have to rush and buy this new S, then, although the new silver exterior is more of my color than the mid-night blue of current S. [ :p]

Aye the T Series CPU is increased from 1.1Ghz to 1.2Ghz and apparently there will be a bigger HD of 60Gb in the top of the range offerings and maybe even a new carbon fibre body a bit like the X505 which will save 0.3Kg in weight.......

and its good they're finally putting a better gpu in the a series, even though the x600 isnt that great in my opinion and they SHOULD put the mobility x800...hmm...thats the only thing i find bad about sony, their gpu's arent good.

No chance the updated 915 Sony S series will get new fans? or just get quieter somehow?
