    hi, this is my first post so go easy pls. i have a new fz38m and i wanted to restore the notebook to new to give as a gift . i mistakenly loaded up a non sony vista restore cd , notebook is working but all the sony software is gone.

    my question , can i use a restore cd from another fz38m to restore my vaio, if not where can i get a restore cd from in the uk. many thanks 4 reading in

    So do you or do you not have the recovery partition anymore? You can download most of the original drivers off the sony site, what particular software are you missing?

    i no longer have the recovery partition , its gone. as 4 the drivers i know they are on the support site but was hoping i could get a restore cd so i could make back to original factory settings

    You only choice may be to call up sony and order a set of recovery disks, I believe they offer this service but unfortunately it will cost you.

    Are you SURE it is gone? The recovery partiton is a hidden partiton after all. Power off and as the machine is booting hit the F10 key and see what happens.
