    Hi All,
    I have a VGN-Z550N.
I upgraded from Vista Business 32 Bit to W7 Pro 32 Bit without any problems except that there is no audio through hdmi output. There is video but audio still comes from laptop speakers.
I updated Realtek high def drivers to current ones but it didn't help. I can see
hdmi sound output in sound playback devices, but it is grayed out and says
"not plugged in" . I can also not set it as "default device".
I re-installed nvidia 9300m vista 32bit drivers but that did not help either.
I can not find any nvidia 9300m W7 32 bit drivers on sony support site.

Is this a Windows 7 issue or nvidia - realtek driver issue?

Any help and advise is greatly appreciated!

Windows picks a device and uses it by default. Your speakers are currently set as the default speaker.

If you go into control panel, sound, on the playback tab you will see a list of output devices, change the default there by right clicking on which you want and select set as default device. When not there, it should default back to the onboard speakers.
