No S or E series announcement?

Is sony not gona bring these 2 to the us? I was hopeing to get some stats on these

Good news. Here's a hint about the 13" coming to the US:

Mike Abary, general manager of VAIO product marketing in the U.S., also provided a sneak peek at a couple of concept products that represent what may be available in the near future. These included an ultra-portable, 13-inch widescreen notebook PC and a hard disk-based music player announced already in Japan.

A Japanese review of the low-spec base model Type S is up. It has more pics and a few benchmarks against other Japanese models, such as the NEC LaVie N LN500/9D.

For everyone who was wondering, the 40GB drive in this unit is the 2.5" (9.5mm high) Hitachi DK23FA-40 4,200RPM with 2MB cache.

The specs say the standard 6 cell battery (11.1V and 4,800mAh) should last up to 5.5 hours and the larger optional battery up to 8 hours. Their MobileMark2002 battery life rating was 296 (4 hours 56 min.).

Conclusion:

It is compatible on a high level in portability and a performance. VGN-S70B is 2 spindle mobile note PC which realized sufficient portable weight of about 1.89kg, carrying 13.3 type wide liquid crystal and a DVD-RW drive. Since battery drive time is also long, it is recommendation also at those with many opportunities who use in the place which does not have a power supply. Moreover, since performance is also high, it is ( use / instead of Desktop PC ) suitable combining port replicator. Although a price becomes high, the person adhering to a performance is VGN-S90 PS/VGN-S90S of the Sony style limited model, and if Pentium M745 and MOBILITY RADEON 9700 are chosen, he will become the strongest mobile note PC.

I am looking at new subnote now and am leaning to the Fujitsu P5020.
It is a great little notebook but the keys are a bit cramped. Now comes the PERFECT size Sony "S" series with a better resolution screen than standard (widescreen is great) and only 8.8" depth so it is perfect on planes in coach seats (under 9" depth is optimal for us road warriors of the sky), and it looks like it's docking station even has a DVI port to get the most out of those expensive flat panels- but, but all is not perfect in Sony land- at closer inpsection the KEYS ARE AT 18mm PITCH! not the full size 19mm! My "miniature" Fujitsu P series is 18mm. Why o Why did Sony cramp the keys? Are Japanese fingers that small? This notebook is 12.25" wide MORE than enough room. Oh well I guess the perfect notebook STILL does not exist! But this one is close- if it was 3 months away or so I would wait for it- but this is probably a 6-9 month release here if Sony is true to form. I also like the fact that Sony is including 3 year warrantees now- their warrantees in the past have sucked
