So I ordered my SR from Newegg, found out it shipped on Monday the 28th and would arrive Thursday the 31st. So yesterday (Wednesday) I went to track my shipment and guess what... Apparently UPS sent it to Florida to be delivered to some business in Rivera Beach (I live in the U.P. of Michigan, they were only about a thousand miles off). After I found this out I was immediately on the phone with a couple UPS reps who were no help at all so I then asked to talk with a supervisor. She seemed to be a big help and agreed to have the package express shipped and I would receive it either Thursday or Friday, I figured if its a day late its no biggie. So today (Thursday) I gave UPS a call and got a hold of another supervisor just make sure everything was moving along, it wasn't. The supervisor told me that they couldn't "find" the package last night to have the shipping upgraded and that I should call Newegg to have an "investigation" to find the package started. As you can imagine at this point I was f***ing pissed. So I did indeed call Newegg to inform them of this occurrence and the rep told me that I'd have to make some sort of 7 day claim and if they didn't find the package by then they'd send me a new one. So I just asked to be refunded and he agreed, but there would still be a 7 day wait. I just said whatever because I was so sick of being on the phone with reps.

Do you guys think I would be asking too much to be immediately refunded? I know this was completely UPS's fault and had nothing to do with Newegg themselves but, why do I have to be the one that gets f***ed? Newegg should be able to just refund me and if UPS finds the package it could be sent back to Newegg and if they don't UPS would simply payback Newegg, right?

I guess I now have some time to decide if I want to just shell out for the Z.

I don't think your being overly unreasonable, but try to look at it from NewEgg's perspective... To just immediately refund your money, they have no way to verify what you're saying is in fact true. Which is why they have the 7 day hold period, so they can investigate into the incident.

Exactly. Taking a 7 day cool-off period gives NewEgg a chance to look at this, gives UPS a chance to find the package, and for NewEgg to file a claim to make UPS pay for the loss.

Either way, I see you getting your money back as soon as UPS fails to find the package within 7 days.

I know it was put on the wrong truck and missed scanning, so yes they were just being dumb.

Refuse your package at the door and newegg will get it back. I asked newegg rep this and he said refuse the package and it will ship back to newegg

Why cancel the order, if that's the laptop you want? It's not going to hurt Newegg or UPS any. I say just be patient, and get them to refund your shipping costs. You've survived this long without an SR, I'm sure you can make it through another week or two and when it arrives you'll forget all about the delay.

Well if I'm going to wait seven days I guess I'm just going to wait until the Z is released and make my decision on which one to get.
