Hi there. Let me first introduce myself, cause I´m new here. My name is Niels, I´m from the Netherlands and I own a Sony Vaio PCG-FX701.

I´m having some trouble with this Laptop and I would like to know from other owners with this specific type of the Vaio Series if they undergo the same freeze up when they try to play a Video or DVD.

Each time when, for example on youtube, or internet page or when trying to play a DVD. Within seconds the laptop, either stops and shows for a split second a blue screen before turning black and the system starts up again. On the other hand it sometimes happens that the laptop stops, shows a black screen and does nothing anymore. Then I have to hold the power on button for 5 seconds in order to restart the system.

Since this laptop has costed me allot of money, I´m finding it very very poor that SONY has brought out such a bad working machine.

What I would like to know if other people having this laptop share the same faults as I am experiancing. Hopefully one of them might have an answer how to fix this.... besides buying a new one that is.

Thank you all very much in advance from your replies.

    Welcome :)

    Is this a new laptop?

One suggestion i can make is to run all windows updates and see if the problem persists. After that you should probably send it to sony for repair or to have it replaced.
