    No factory restore CD with VAIOs? How cheap!

    Yeah, it's a bit cheap, but the supplied recovery software can burn some recovery DVDs/CDs for you: requires two DVDRs or 9 CDs on the SZ.

    Wow...thats news, but I have my XP cd from my HP. The drivers I can get off the net, so I am all set right?

    The drivers are on the recovery disks, with a few more recent updates on Sony support. I think you're set so long as your copy of XP is happy to install on a non-HP machine.

    So there are recovery CD's that are given by Sony?
    Yeah my XP copy should work, it worked on my dell.

    just finished burning them onto dvd. geez i was scared for a second lol. this sony vaio rocks...loving it so far. itll be hard returning this in 2 weeks...

    i went to the start menu and it was there "create restore cd" put it on 2 dvds, took about 45mins.

    I bought it one week ago, 2900$cnd with taxes (**** taxes). I dont have a lot of money, your the one buying notebooks because you cant live without one for 2 weeks lol.

    Thats alot of money, ****. Hey for someone who uses the computer everyday and relies on it so heavy, i dont think anyone could go 2 weeks without one lol. Though I use one at work, but still....cant do personal stuff in worktime ;)

    Where did you get it from? Is it a business line?
