Anyone know why the P9500 processor is no longer available on the VGN-Z590 CTO version of the Vaio Z Series? The first reply from Sony customer "service" was "sometimes things are out of stock." The second reply was "after further investigation, it will only be offered on the Z540 from now on." Can anyone confirm and/or explain why that might be? Were there problems?

As a followup, anyone have a reference for much difference the 6MB L2 cache in the P9500 makes vs. 3MB in the P8600?

    thanks,
    k

I'm sure it will be replaced by the P9600 no?

Yeah, it might simply be discontinued/replaced at the same price point.

    (sob, since I have a P9500. )

I see. Thanks for the info. I'm fine w/ trying to find someone who might still have stock as long as there was no pathological problem w/ the P9500.
