    Hi,

I have a VGN-S360P laptop from Sony and after plugging in USB cable connected to a MP3 player, the laptop shut off on its own.

No charging lights show any indication of the power supply connected.
Nothing I do can boot up this computer. When pressing the power button, it does not load into the bios at all. No noises, lights, fans.

I removed the hdd and 512MB ram module to make sure they were causing the issue but that didn't work.

Unfortunately I think its the motherboard. Somehow the USB cable must have shorted out the mobo and now I get no response from the laptop.

    Any ideas?
How much is it to replace the motherboard and where is a good place to get one?

I've seen some for about $424 - $575 but for a laptop purchased in 2004, I think that its not even worth it.
