Hey everyone, I have S5XP and I was wondering what the possibilities of processor were.

For example, at the minute it runs a 2.0GHz Pentim M 760 I think.

Would it for example support Core processors?

    Thanks very much.

Funny, I thought I'd like the silver keyboard also but after seeing pictures of it I decided the black looks better with the carbon fiber case. Have you tried calling Sony? Also you can check eBay, sometimes you'll find things like that.

No, It wont. The Core processors have different pin configurations even though they share the same socket.

The Pentium M series went upto 2.26GHz with the Pentium M 780. I dont think it is a worth it to upgrade from the 760. You might want to look into adding more RAM or a faster 7200rpm Hard drive(if it uses a 2.5" drive) which should yield better performance increases than just increasing the speed by 226MHz.

I wouldn't upgrade to a 780 either. I've heard from people who have and it runs quite a bit hotter than the 760 when on high load. If you want to upgrade I'd also go for the harddrive, it's probably the bottleneck anyhow
