I'm hoping to find more folks using this gpu in the CW or F series so we can share experiences. I'm super new to OC'ing - this is the first time I've ever done it.

Right now I'm using Nvidia tools to oc:

    650 gpu clock
    800 memory
    1550 shader

I have seen a max temp of 70c. I would say I'm getting on average a boost of 5-10fps.

Did you run stability tests to check the OC? How did you settle on the figures in your post? Seeing any anomolies or has the machine hung up at all?

I have had the 9600 GT in my desktop OC's for years now and never had a problem. I settled on my figures after a lot of stability testing. Everytime I push the settings up, even a few notches, I get lock up from the GPU. I try to keep my temps under 65c but I have a lot of cooling in my desktop.

Do you have a CW? That device looks it will have no cooling problems at all. The Z is much smaller and has quite a bit less airspace. I saw an S in Bestbuys with an I5/310M (I think) and it was running hot. You could steam your suit on the exhause from the fan.

    I have the F series.

I've settled on these numbers based on real-world testing; i.e - playing my games how I play them. The highest temp I have seen under load is 70c and I idle in the 40's.

At what point can I stop monitoring my temps? I hate being paranoid :) This is the first time I've ever oc'd.

Sorry, you're stuck with it for life.

    Sorry, couldn't resist :p

I just apply common sense with overclocking. If it doesn't break after a decent period of being stressed, it will probably survive just fine without monitoring it all the time.
To rekindle the paranoia: Keep in mind that it's all at your own risk.

Yeah, that's how I'm approaching it. I still need to monitor during some multi-hour gaming sessions, but as long as the temps hover in the low 70's I think I'll be ok.

Well I OCed to the stats in the sig. Everything was fine got a nice 3Dmark06 boost but today when I plugged hdmi into my 40" samsung. I got the BSOD and it reset my card to default. Have you tried using a external monitor over hdmi Duggan with your more advanced OC? also I love the cooling on the CW. Even with the Mild OC and after running 3Dmark it peaked at 60C. Lowest was 38C, Idle is around 42-45C.
